I am new to competitive HO slot car drag racing. The AW dragstrip has got my interest up to where I want to build some drag cars. I will run mostly T-Jet and AFX cars. I was wondering what people use for wheelie bars. I don’t want a super long thing sticking out of the back. I want more realistic looking wheelie bars. Do people use actual wheels? I saw some that the person used beads on a wire. I have seen just a piece of plastic that was set up to just above the track surface.
Thanks,
Marty
Wire and beads is a great solution for a simple and good looking wheelie bar.
The actuator arm from mini-switches was popular but they are now difficult to find with the black nylon roller. The metal part of the arm was notched and slipped nicely between the rear body mounting post and body screw.
There are still a few vendors making wheelie bars for HO slot cars. Try Ol’Roys HO Wheelie Bars.
